You, as Red, are the pet. Though it's your birthday, your mistress is away for your celebrations. Rather than be alone, she's commanded a trio of other serpents to take her place. Combined, they might just be the same size. Red knows them all, they know him just as well and when it comes time for the presents they see it as an opportunity to push the human's buttons.

Red turns his namesake when locked in a room full of scales. Done as partially a gift, partially a tech-test to see if something like this was possible.
